Hawkesbury holds on for 4-3 win against Kanata

The Hawkesbury Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kanata Stallions on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Rory Gagnon put Hawkesbury up 4-2 in the third period, but Kanata pulled to within one on Chad Millett's tally 19:43 into the third period.

Gagnon had a great game for the Hawks, netting two goals.

Hawkesbury stifled the Stallions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks' offense rang up 32 shots on Kanata's net.

Hawkesbury also got points from Marc-Antoine Bourbonnais, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Hunter Racine as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Jonathan Tecce, who had two and Jason Brochu, Ross Mandigo, CJ Stubbs, Alex Anderson, and Phil Johansson, who each chipped in one.

The Stallions were led by Peter Angelopoulos, who tallied one goal and one assist. Angelopoulos scored 1:26 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Cameron Rodziwon provided the assist. Ian Johnston also scored for Kanata.

Daniel Potter rejected 13 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kanata's Cole Skinner stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
