Lindsay rides Diclemente to victory over Stouffville, 4-1Stouffville Arena Sat, Feb 21, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Boyd Diclemente helped the Lindsay Muskies defeat the Stouffville Spirit, 4-1. Lindsay was led by Mackenzie Heber, who registered one goal. Heber scored 10:03 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lindsay. Joseph Vocino assisted on the tally. Lindsay additionally got points from Cameron Stajer, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Lindsay included Brock Spear and Mac West, who each put in one. More assists for Lindsay came via James Allen, Austin Eastman, Bradley Johnson, Cole Langfield, and Cam Robinson, who contributed one each. Stouffville was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Spirit had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. Stouffville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Muskies to score on any of their five power plays. The Spirit were held below their usual level of production. Stouffville averages 3.6 goals per game. Lindsay was unable to stop the Spirit from sending pucks towards the net, and Stouffville eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Spirit were led by Matthew Heffernan, who scored the team's only goal. Heffernan scored 14:19 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Lindsay. Spencer Roberts picked up the assist. Boyd Diclemente made 35 saves for the Muskies on 36 shots. Lindsay ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Heber was ejected from the game. Stouffville's Aaron Taylor stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Spirit registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For Stouffville, Tyson Bruce and Nathan Hudgin were ejected from the contest.
