Devito leads Wellington, offense over Kingston, 5-2

Nick Devito was a peerless playmaker for the Wellington Dukes, as he dished out three to beat the Kingston Voyageurs, 5-2.

Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Wellington also got a goal from Will Cook as well. In addition, Wellington received assists from Josh Supryka, Abbott Girduckis, and Joe McKeown, who contributed one each and Andrew Coupland and Jacob Panetta, who each chipped in two.

Kingston's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. The Voyageurs are averaging 2.5 goals against for the season. Kingston could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Voyageurs were led by Spencer Green, who grabbed one goal. Green scored 15:50 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Wellington. Adam Moodie provided the assist. Zachary Emelifeonwu also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Colin Tonge and Corey Caruso, who contributed one each.

Olivier Lafreniere made 20 saves for the Dukes on 22 shots. Wellington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Urbani took the loss and made nine saves before being replaced by Matt Penta who made eight saves.
