Mississauga falls to Toronto Patriots after surprising comeback

The Toronto Patriots Patriots climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Mississauga Chargers, 5-4.

Toronto Patriots never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Patriots was down 4-1 after a goal by Mississauga's Zach Sternbach at 9:53 in the second period. Toronto Patriots tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Nathan Feric at 7:23 in the third period. The Patriots scored the game winner at 11:03 in the third period on a goal by Feric.

Toronto Patriots kept the Chargers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Lepore made 37 saves on 42 shots.

Toronto Patriots also got points from Mitch Emerson, who also registered one goal and two assists. Brett Markham also scored for Toronto Patriots. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Jacob Hayhurst, who had three and Tyler Currie, Mario Ferraro, Niko Kovachis, and Luke Carter, who contributed one each.

Mississauga forced the Patriots' netminders to work between the pipes, firing 36 shots and forcing 32 saves. Mathew Robson made 31 stops and Emanuel Vella made one.

The Chargers were helped by Scott Docherty, who tallied one goal. Docherty scored 4:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mississauga. Austin Galli assisted on the tally. Mississauga additionally got points from Sternbach, who also had one goal and one assist and Stefano Alonzi, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mississauga also got a goal from Domenic Commisso as well. More assists for Mississauga came via Marco Mattina, who had two and Joseph Molinaro and Thomas Lattavo, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mississauga incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
