Oakville rides McGlynn to victory over Stouffville, 5-1Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Fri, Feb 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Brendan McGlynn helped the Oakville Blades defeat the Stouffville Spirit, 5-1. Oakville pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Blades were paced by Ryan Garvey, who racked up one goal. Garvey scored 9:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Oakville. Jackson Bales picked up the assist. Oakville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Others who scored for Oakville included Kamil Tkaczuk, Zachary Gallant, Ryan Burns, and Christian Rajic, who each put in one. In addition, Oakville received assists from Brandon Hughes, who had two and Austin Broadhurst, Evan Bouchard, Max Lindsay, Matthew McLeod, Josh Kosack, and Tyler Rollo, who each chipped in one. Stouffville's offense operated below its season average. The Spirit put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Stouffville was led by Robert Clark, who scored the team's only goal. Clark scored 15:47 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Oakville. Spencer Roberts assisted on the tally. Brendan McGlynn made 26 saves for the Blades on 27 shots. Oakville registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Conor McCollum took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Aaron Taylor who made 10 saves. The Spirit incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
