Aurora rolls over Lindsay, 8-3

The Lindsay Muskies had trouble finding ways to stop the Aurora Tigers, which beat Muskies, 8-3.

Johnny Curran had a great game for Aurora, netting two goals. Curran's tallies came at 11:14 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Aurora and 15:43 into the third to make the score 8-3 Aurora.

The Tigers' penalty kill excelled, as Aurora gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Tigers stifled Lindsay's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Aurora forced the Muskies goalie Boyd Diclemente to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. The Tigers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Aurora averages 4.3 goals per contest. The Tigers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Aurora also got points from Taylor Joseph, who also registered one goal and one assist, Keaton Ratcliffe, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nicholas Erb, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Aurora also had goals scored by Vince Figliomeni, Mack Lemmon, and Sam Quaranta, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Kyle Locke, Daniel Mantenuto, Drake Board, Noah Delmas, Cameron Morrison, and Liam Neuman, who contributed one each.

Lindsay forced Tigers' goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 41 shots and forcing 38 saves. Andy Munroe made 26 stops and Marcus Semiao made 12.

The Muskies were led by Keegan Cairns, who finished with one goal and one assist. Cairns scored 8:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Austin Eastman assisted on the tally. Lindsay additionally got points from Logan DeNoble, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. James Allen also scored for Lindsay. More assists for Lindsay came via Cole Langfield, who had one.

Aurora registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Tigers, Locke was ejected from the game. Diclemente rejected 36 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
