Kingston falls to Cobourg in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Cobourg Cougars' Mitchell Gibson scored 2:31 into overtime to beat the Kingston Voyageurs, 3-2 (OT).

Cobourg got the win behind a great game by Gibson, who had two goals and one assist. Gibson scored the first of his two goals at 2:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Matt Watson provided the assist. Gibson's next tally made the score 3-2 Cobourg with 17:29 left in. The Cougars had gained a power play chance when Alex Tonge was whistled for hooking. Watson assisted on the tally.

Cobourg forced Kingston goalie Daniel Urbani to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Liam Grande also scored for Cobourg. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Matt Carroll and Alex Riche, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs' offense rang up 37 shots on the Cougars' net.

Kingston was helped by Matt Hoover, who registered one goal. Hoover scored 7:03 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Corey Caruso provided the assist. More assists for Kingston came via Adam Brady and Cole Bolton, who contributed one each.

Stefano Durante rejected 35 shots on goal for Cobourg. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Urbani recorded 47 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
