The Oakville Blades' Brandon Hughes scored 2:43 into overtime to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 4-3 (OT). Matt Lippa was all over the ice for Oakville, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Lippa scored at 17:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 17:21 into the second to make the score 3-2 Oakville. The Blades stifled St. Michaels' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Oakville forced the Buzzers goalie George Argiropoulos to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Oakville also got points from Hughes, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Jackson Bales as well. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Josh Kosack, who had two and Tanner Shaw, Tyler Burns, and Ross Sloan, who each chipped in one. St. Michaels excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 10 chances. The Buzzers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. St. Michaels was helped by A.J. Dorazio, who registered one goal. Dorazio scored 4:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Scott Teskey provided the assist. St. Michaels also had goals scored by Thomas Beretta and Noah Jordan, who each put in one. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Marco Ferraro, Joseph Berton, and Matt Pepler, who contributed one each. Brendan McGlynn made nine saves before being replaced by Daniel Mannella, who took the win and made 16 saves. The Blades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Buzzers' Argiropoulos stopped 55 shots out of the 59 that he faced. St. Michaels registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ian Edmondson was ejected from the game.
