Munroe, Aurora blank Kingston, 3-0

Andy Munroe was superb between the pipes for the Aurora Tigers, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs.

Aurora was led by Cameron Morrison, who registered one goal. Morrison scored 7:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Johnny Curran assisted on the tally.

The Tigers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kingston power plays. Aurora's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Tigers gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. Kingston was unable to stop Aurora from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Aurora additionally got points from Curran, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Aurora also got a goal from Vince Figliomeni as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Kyle Locke, Noah Delmas, and Sam Quaranta, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Kingston averages 3.7 goals per game. The Voyageurs forced Aurora goalie Munroe to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Kingston was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

The Tigers' Munroe stopped 33 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Aurora incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Matt Penta made 31 saves for the Voyageurs on 33 shots.
