Oakville falls to Toronto Jr. Canadiens in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Will Lawrence gave the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Oakville Blades when he scored 1:37 into the extra period.

Oakville could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. Toronto Jr. Canadiens made the score 3-1 on a goal by Lawrence at 17:58 in the first period. The Blades pulled to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Kamil Tkaczuk at 8:29 in the third period.

Lawrence had two goals to lead the Junior Canadiens to victory.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Oakville's goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brendan McGlynn made 24 stops and Daniel Mannella made five.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Ryan MacSpadyen and Anthony Repaci, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Kevin Hancock, who had two and Matthew Ferrari, Kennedy Duguid, Andrew Mullen, Anthony Trujillo, Justin Maiolino, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who each chipped in one.

The Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Toronto Jr. Canadiens power plays. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Oakville was helped by Ross Sloan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Sloan scored 11:31 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Christian Rajic picked up the assist. Oakville additionally got points from Ryan Burns, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Oakville came via Vince Palermo, who had one and Austin Broadhurst, who had two.

Nathan Colitto made 33 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 36 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
