Board nets hat trick, leads Aurora to 10-2 win over Milton

Drake Board netted a hat trick to lead the Aurora Tigers over the Milton Icehawks, 10-2.

Board's first goal came 3:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:01 into the second and at 12:12 into the second.

Aurora forced Milton goalie Scott Smith to work between the pipes, taking 64 shots. The Tigers bested their season scoring average. This season, Aurora averages 4.3 goals per contest. The Tigers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Aurora additionally got points from Johnny Curran, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Vince Figliomeni, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Eric Williams, who also registered one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Jordan DaSilva as well. More assists for Aurora came via Nolan Dunn, who had three and Daniel Mantenuto, Noah Delmas, Keaton Ratcliffe, Matthew Bernard, Sam Quaranta, and Nicholas Erb, who each chipped in two.

The Icehawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aurora to score on any of its three power plays.

Marcus Semiao recorded 16 saves for the Tigers. Aurora ended with seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major. For the Tigers, Mack Lemmon was ejected from the game. Scott Smith made 54 saves for Milton on 64 shots. The Icehawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
