Mississauga rides Lepore to victory over Milton, 4-1

The Mississauga Chargers relied on the sparkling performance of Alex Lepore in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Milton Icehawks.

Mississauga was paced by Steve Mariani, who grabbed one goal. Mariani scored 1:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mississauga. James Sterne provided the assist.

Milton was unable to stop the Chargers from sending pucks towards the net, and Mississauga eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Mississauga included Domenic Commisso, Marco Mattina, and Zach Sternbach, who scored one goal each. More assists for Mississauga came via Nicholas Palumbo, Scott Docherty, and Thomas Lattavo, who each chipped in one and Joseph Molinaro and Tyler Cooper, who contributed two each.

The Icehawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mississauga power plays. Milton forced the Chargers goalie Lepore to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

The Icehawks were led by Chris Cobham, who scored the team's only goal. Cobham scored 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sean Perichak picked up the assist.

Lepore rejected 42 shots on goal for Mississauga. The Chargers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Milton's Cosimo Lazzarino stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Icehawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
