A stellar performance between the pipes by Matt Penta helped the Kingston Voyageurs defeat the Wellington Dukes, 4-1. Kingston was led by Cole Bolton, who racked up one goal. Bolton scored 3:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kingston. Michael Crocock picked up the assist. The Voyageurs' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Kingston had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Voyageurs stifled Wellington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kingston's offense rang up 35 shots on the Dukes' net. Kingston also got points from Alex Tonge, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Ryan Watson and Spencer Green, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kingston came via Adam Brady, who had two and Josh Hicks, Corey Caruso, Adam Moodie, and Alex Stothart, who each chipped in one. Wellington could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Dukes put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Wellington forced the Voyageurs goalie Penta to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Dukes were led by Wes St Amand, who scored the team's only goal. St Amand scored 5:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Ben Sokay provided the assist. Matt Penta made 40 saves for Kingston on 41 shots. The Voyageurs registered one goal on one power play opportunities. For Kingston, Bolton was ejected from the game. Olivier Lafreniere recorded 31 saves for Wellington. The Dukes totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Wellington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and St Amand was ejected from the game.
