Aurora survives Pickering comeback, wins 4-3

The Pickering Panthers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Aurora Tigers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Aurora took a 3-1 lead during the first period, only to have Pickering storm back on a Chris Sekelyk goal 1:21 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Tigers were led by Cameron Morrison, who tallied one goal. Morrison scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Aurora. Noah Delmas picked up the assist.

Aurora had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances.

Aurora also got points from Marty Lawlor, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Aurora included Callum Fryer and Drake Board, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Daniel Mantenuto, Jordan DaSilva, and Todd Winder, who contributed one each.

The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pickering additionally got points from Mark Tenuta, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Joseph Mitchell also scored for Pickering. In addition, Pickering received assists from Kevin Dimagno, Cam Palmer, Lucas Condotta, Nicholas Lepone, and Riley Devine, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers' Andy Munroe stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Aurora incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jordan Cartney rejected 19 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
