Aaron Taylor recorded a shutout against the Cobourg Cougars as the Stouffville Spirit picked up a 3-0 win.

Stouffville was led by Nathan Hudgin, who tallied one goal and one assist. Hudgin scored 17:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stouffville. Cameron Lintner provided the assist.

The Spirit put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cobourg to score on any of its four power plays.

Stouffville additionally got points from Brodie Tutton, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Matthew Heffernan, Spencer Roberts, and Nick Thomakos, who contributed one each.

The Cougars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Cobourg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Cobourg forced Stouffville goalie Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Taylor rejected 35 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tyler Lewis recorded 27 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
