Lindsay falls to Orangeville in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Orangeville Flyers' Derek Topatigh scored 4:46 into overtime to beat the Lindsay Muskies, 2-1 (OT).

Orangeville was led by goalie Wyatt Pickrell, who finished with 40 saves while allowing one goal. Pickrell certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.36 entering the contest.

The Flyers' penalty kill excelled, as Orangeville gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Flyers stifled Lindsay's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Muskies were unable to stop Orangeville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. Orangeville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Orangeville also got points from James McLaughlin, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Orangeville came via Colin Rigney, Ryan Anton, and Darren Nesbitt, who contributed one each.

Lindsay forced the Flyers goalie Pickrell to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

The Muskies were led by Brock Spear, who scored the team's only goal. Spear scored 16:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Joseph Vocino picked up the assist.

Orangeville registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Boyd Diclemente recorded 49 saves for Lindsay. The Muskies incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
