The game between the North York Rangers and the Burlington Cougars was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end North York emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brett Seldon at 12:29 of the third period.

The Rangers were led by Seldon, who finished with one goal.

North York stifled Burlington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rangers forced the Cougars goalie Joe Noonan to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

North York additionally got points from Zachary Fung, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. North York also had goals scored by Michael Morgan and Will Reilly, who scored one goal each. More assists for North York came via Ted Hunt, Anthony Paveglio, and Matthew Whittaker, who contributed one each.

Burlington was helped by Kyle West, who tallied one goal. West scored 19:20 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Dante Felicetti picked up the assist. Louis Vlahakis also scored for Burlington. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were David Kiss, Spencer Herbst, and Mike Choma, who each chipped in one.

Evgueni Makarski recorded 26 saves for North York. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cougars' Noonan stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Burlington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Cougars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Daniel Volpe was ejected from the game.
