Trenton rips Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 4-1

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens had trouble finding ways to stop the Trenton Golden Hawks, which beat Junior Canadiens, 4-1.

Trenton's Riley Brown was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. Brown managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.13 prior to the game.

The Golden Hawks were led by Braden Hellems, who had one goal. Hellems scored on the power play 8:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Trenton had gained a power play chance when Cody Symonds was whistled for roughing. Brady Wiffen provided the assist.

The Golden Hawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Trenton ended up below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Toronto Jr. Canadiens was unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Trenton eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Golden Hawks took advantage of the Junior Canadiens' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Trenton also got a goal from Christian DiFelice as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Hunter Fargey, who had two and Kevin Lavoie, Danny Liscio, Chrisitian Lloyd, Matt Pizzo, and Aidan Parker, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was held below its usual level of production. The Junior Canadiens average 3.6 goals per game. Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Trenton goalie Brown to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Nicholas Jarzabek, who scored the team's only goal. Jarzabek scored 4:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Aaron Spivak assisted on the tally.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Nathan Colitto stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
