David Thomson lifted the Burlington Cougars to a 6-4 victory with a hat trick against the Mississauga Chargers. Thomson got on the scoresheet 18:47 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:51 into the third and at 5:18 into the third.Burlington forced Mississauga goalie Mitchell Heck to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Cougars bested their season scoring average. Burlington has scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The Cougars capitalized on the Chargers' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Burlington also got points from Wyatt Trainer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jack Jeffers, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Burlington also got a goal from Kyle West as well. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Willy Paul, Michael Alberga, Ben Scheel, and Sean McLaren, who contributed one each. Mississauga's offense rang up 39 shots on Burlington's net. The Chargers were helped by Vince Figliomeni, who had two goals and one assist. Figliomeni scored the first of his two goals at 12:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga. Stefano Alonzi picked up the assist. Figliomeni's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:31 left in the second period. Mississauga had gotten the advantage when the Cougars' Alberga was sent off for head contact. Joseph Molinaro provided the assist. Mississauga additionally got points from Alonzi, who also registered one goal and one assist. Domenic Commisso also scored for Mississauga. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Marco Mattina and Thomas Lattavo, who each chipped in one. Cammeron Radford made 35 saves for Burlington on 39 shots.
