Georgetown downs Pickering, 4-0

Andrew Court grabbed two points to lead the Georgetown Raiders to a 4-0 victory over the Pickering Panthers.

Georgetown's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 18.0 minutes per game the Raiders had been spending in the box. Georgetown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pickering to score on any of its four power plays. The Raiders' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Panthers. Georgetown averages 2.3 goals allowed per game. Pickering was unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also racked up one goal and one assist and John Adams, who also registered one goal and one assist. Richard Court also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Carmine Alberga, Liam Clare, Scott Emerson, Anthony Marra, and Francois Cote, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Pickering puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Marc Williams recorded 24 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Raiders, Emerson and Brendan Jacome were ejected from the contest. Austin Washkurak rejected 31 shots on goal for the Panthers. Pickering ended with 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cam Palmer was ejected from the game.
