North York rips Hamilton, 6-3

The Hamilton Red Wings had trouble finding ways to stop the North York Rangers, which beat Red Wings, 6-3.

Kyle Clarke had a great game for North York, netting two goals. Clarke's tallies came at 2:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York and 1:37 into the third to make the score 4-1 North York.

Hamilton was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Rangers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, North York averages 3.6 goals per contest.

North York additionally got points from Gabriel Valenzuela, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Zack Fisher, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North York included Anthony Paveglio and Ryan Takamatsu, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Matthew Whittaker, who had two and Max Novick, Luke Kutkevicius, and Will Reilly, who contributed one each.

The Red Wings' offense rang up 48 shots on the Rangers' net.

Hamilton was helped by Nicholas Lepone, who registered one goal and one assist. Lepone scored on the power play 6:06 into the third period to make the score 4-2 North York. The Red Wings had taken the advantage when North York's Zachary Fung got sent off for cross checking. Ryan Punkari provided the assist. Hamilton also got points from Erick Delaurentis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Joel Knight also scored for Hamilton. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Khadyn Butterfly, who had one and Joseph Mitchell, who had two.

Gianluca Baggetta made 45 saves for the Rangers on 48 shots. North York incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rangers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Michael Morgan was ejected from the game. Hamilton's Jordan Cartney stopped 29 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Red Wings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
