Brendan McGlynn recorded a shutout against the Mississauga Chargers as the Oakville Blades picked up a 7-0 win. Josh Kosack had two goals and one assist to lead Oakville. Kosack scored the first of his two goals at 9:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Matthew McLeod assisted on the tally. Kosack's next tally made the score 3-0 Oakville with 4:35 left in the second period. Ryan Markovic provided the assist. The Blades put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississauga to score on any of its four power plays. Oakville's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Blades gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. The Chargers were unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Oakville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Blades average 4.0 goals per game. Oakville got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Oakville also got points from Vince Palermo, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Oakville included Greg Campbell, who had two and Tyler Rollo and Matt Lippa, who each put in one. In addition, Oakville received assists from Kamil Tkaczuk, Brandon Hughes, Ryan Burns, and Christian Rajic, who each chipped in one and Sean Kohler and Jackson Bales, who contributed two each. Mississauga did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Chargers put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Brendan McGlynn made 29 saves for the Blades on 29 shots. Oakville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mississauga's Mitchell Heck stopped 32 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Chargers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
