Toronto Patriots falls to Wellington in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Will Cook gave the Wellington Dukes a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Toronto Patriots Patriots when he scored 43 seconds into the extra period.

Cook had a great game for Wellington, netting two goals.

Wellington also got points from Marco Azzano, who also registered one goal and two assists and Nick Devito, who also had one goal and one assist. Wellington also got a goal from Jacob Hetherington as well. More assists for Wellington came via Joe McKeown, who had three.

Toronto Patriots forced the Dukes goalie Olivier Lafreniere to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

The Patriots were led by Connor Beck, who tallied two goals. Beck scored the first of his two goals at 15:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Patriots. Nicholas Geiser assisted on the tally. Beck's next tally made the score 4-3 Toronto Patriots with 8:02 left in the third period. Nathan Feric picked up the assist. Toronto Patriots also had goals scored by Brett Markham and Quinn Syrydiuk, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Jacob Hayhurst, who had two.

Lafreniere rejected 35 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Emanuel Vella made 25 saves for Toronto Patriots on 30 shots. The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Toronto Patriots, Niko Kovachis and Nicholas Ursitti were ejected from the contest.
