St. Michaels beats Orangeville 4-1 as Beretta gets hat trick

The Orangeville Flyers could not stop the St. Michaels Buzzers' Thomas Beretta, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Beretta's first goal came 16:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:28 into the second and at 12:19 into the third.

Orangeville was stymied by St. Michaels' netminder Mark Manolescu, who stopped 51 shots during the victory. The solid play of Manolescu will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.56.

St. Michaels also got points from Joseph Berton, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for St. Michaels came via Luca Doctor, who had two and Luke Branco, Ian Edmondson, Marcel Fatovic, and Noah Jordan, who contributed one each.

The Flyers' offense operated below their season average. Orangeville puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. The Buzzers were unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Orangeville eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

The Flyers were led by Daniel DeRose, who scored the team's only goal. DeRose scored on the power play 11:11 into the third period to make the score 3-1 St. Michaels. Orangeville had taken the advantage when St. Michaels' Sam Hunter got sent off for cross checking. Ryan DaSilva picked up the assist.

The Buzzers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wyatt Pickrell recorded 19 saves for the Flyers. Orangeville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
