Huge game by Adams boosts Georgetown over Orangeville, 6-1Alcott Sat, Dec 06, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgetown Raiders' John Adams had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over the Orangeville Flyers. Adams found the back of the net 1:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown and again while 8:10 into the second to make the score 4-1 Georgetown.Georgetown was led by goalie Jack LaFontaine, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. LaFontaine certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.04 entering the contest. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Georgetown forced Orangeville goalie Wyatt Pickrell to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Raiders bested their season scoring average. Georgetown averages 3.7 goals per game. Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also had two goals and two assists and Anthony Marra, who also finished with one goal and three assists. Georgetown also got a goal from Zack Dybowski as well. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Liam Clare, who had two and Jake Clements, Carmine Alberga, and Scott Emerson, who each chipped in one. The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Raiders to score on any of their four power plays. Orangeville could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Flyers put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Orangeville's offense rang up 35 shots on Georgetown's net. The Flyers were led by James McLaughlin, who scored the team's only goal. McLaughlin scored 10:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. John DiLorenzo picked up the assist. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Orangeville's Pickrell stopped 43 shots out of the 49 that he faced. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
