Lindsay squeaks by Newmarket, 6-4

The game between the Lindsay Muskies and the Newmarket Hurricanes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lindsay emerged with a 6-4 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Mathew Lewis secured the win for the Muskies with a goal in the third period.

Lewis had two goals to lead Lindsay to victory.

The Muskies forced Newmarket's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 47 shots and forcing 41 saves. Connor Ryckman made nine stops and Tyler Richardson made 32. Lindsay found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Muskies have scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Lindsay's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Lindsay additionally got points from Austin Eastman, who also had one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Brandon Washer as well. More assists for Lindsay came via Kristopher Diclemente, who had two, Logan DeNoble, who had four, and Jack Scanlan, Brock Spear, Cole Langfield, and Cameron Stajer, who contributed one each.

The Muskies were unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Newmarket eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes were helped by Marty Lawlor, who grabbed one goal. Lawlor scored 1:57 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lindsay. Curtis Harvey assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Newmarket included Justin Wain, Cameron Nicoll, and Ryan McReynolds, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Nick Boddy, Christian Dedonato, Jonathan Colley, Brett Thomson, and Anthony Salemi, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay's Brett Chandler stopped 34 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Muskies incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Newmarket incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
