Georgetown wins tough contest against Kingston, 4-3Alcott Sat, Nov 29, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Georgetown Raiders escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs. Georgetown gained the winning advantage on a goal by Richard Court 19:12 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. The Raiders were led by Court, who had one goal. In a losing effort, Kingston was led by Alex Tonge, who finished with two goals. Tonge scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:37 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Georgetown. A unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Liam Clare had put the Voyageurs on the power play. Michael Crocock provided the assist. Tonge's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 13:56 left in the third period. Crocock assisted on the tally. Georgetown additionally got points from Francois Cote, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brendan Jacome, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Anthony Marra also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Eric Eustace, who had two and Jake Clements, Gavin Shantz, Steve Hladin, and John Adams, who contributed one each. Kingston forced Georgetown goalie Jack LaFontaine to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Kingston also got a goal from Cole Bolton as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Alex Stothart, Joey Rutkowski, and Spencer Green, who each chipped in one. LaFontaine recorded 29 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Voyageurs' Matt Penta stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Kingston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
