Oakville rides Mannella to victory over Cobourg, 4-1Cobourg Community Centre Sat, Nov 22, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades relied on the sparkling performance of Daniel Mannella in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Cobourg Cougars. Oakville was led by Ross Sloan, who registered one goal and one assist. Sloan scored 12:53 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Oakville. Kyle Potts provided the assist. The Blades excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Oakville also had goals scored by Greg Campbell, Matt Lippa, and Ryan Garvey, who each put in one. In addition, Oakville received assists from Max Lindsay, who had two and Ryan Burns, Matthew McLeod, and Josh Kosack, who each chipped in one. Cobourg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Cobourg was led by Joe Seney, who scored the team's only goal. Seney scored 2:35 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Oakville. Riley Stillman picked up the assist. Mannella rejected 28 shots on goal for Oakville. The Blades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyler Lewis made 22 saves for the Cougars on 26 shots. Cobourg incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
