Wellington downs Trenton in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Wellington Dukes pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Trenton Golden Hawks on a clutch goal by Abbott Girduckis.

Wellington came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Dukes fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Trenton's Brady Wiffen at 4:30 in the first period. Wellington knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Josh Supryka at 13:19 in the second period.

Supryka had a great game for the Dukes, netting two goals.

Wellington forced the Golden Hawks goalie Justin Kapelmaster to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Marco Azzano also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Luc Brown, Chase St Aubin, Joe McKeown, and Justin Bean, who each chipped in one and Wes St Amand and Griffin McCarty, who contributed two each.

Trenton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wellington power plays. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 32 shots on the Dukes' net.

Trenton also had goals scored by Zach de Concilys and Aidan Parker, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Tyler Donaldson, Danny Liscio, Hunter Fargey, and Braden Hellems, who each chipped in one.

Taylor Welsh made 29 saves for Wellington on 32 shots. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trenton's Kapelmaster stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
