Aurora downs Whitby, 4-1

Nicholas Erb had two points to lead the Aurora Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Whitby Fury.

Aurora also got points from Mack Lemmon, who also registered one goal and one assist. Aurora also had goals scored by Johnny Curran and Cameron Morrison, who scored one goal each. In addition, Aurora received assists from Callum Fryer, Kyle Locke, Daniel Mantenuto, Noah Delmas, Taylor Joseph, and Eric Williams, who each chipped in one.

Whitby's offense operated below its season average. The Fury put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Whitby could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Fury were led by Ryan Kirkup, who scored the team's only goal. Kirkup scored on the power play 8:46 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Aurora. Whitby had gotten the advantage when Aurora's Locke was sent off for elbowing. Stefan von Engelbrechten assisted on the tally.

Andy Munroe rejected 23 shots on goal for the Tigers. Aurora incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Austin Cain recorded 25 saves for the Fury. Whitby registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
