St. Michaels uses early goal to top Aurora, 2-0

Thomas Beretta gave the St. Michaels Buzzers the lead in the first period, and the Aurora Tigers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

St. Michaels took over the lead for good with a goal by Beretta at 19:34 in the first period. Joseph Berton assisted on the tally.

Beretta had two goals to lead the Buzzers to victory.

George Argiropoulos spearheaded the defensive effort for St. Michaels, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 28 saves for the shutout. The solid play of Argiropoulos will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.46.

The Buzzers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aurora to score on any of its three power plays.

More assists for St. Michaels came via Noah Jordan and Cameron Searles, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers were held below their usual level of production. Aurora puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

St. Michaels incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Andy Munroe made 21 saves for the Tigers on 22 shots. Aurora incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
