Toronto Patriots' comeback falls short, Stouffville wins 4-2Stouffville Arena Thu, Nov 13, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stouffville Spirit came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Toronto Patriots Patriots, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Stouffville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Spirit's Joseph Deveny scored at 16:33 in the first period to put Stouffville up 3-0. The Spirit forced Toronto Patriots' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 38 shots and forcing 34 saves. Mathew Robson made seven stops and Emanuel Vella made 27. Stouffville was helped by Alex Gilmour, who finished with one goal. Gilmour scored 7:41 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Stouffville. Others who scored for Stouffville included Chad Burrows and Colton Sansom, who each put in one. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Matthew Heffernan, who had three and James Mense-Dietrich and Cameron Lintner, who contributed one each. The Patriots kept the Spirit's goalie busy throughout the game, and Aaron Taylor made 30 saves on 32 shots. Toronto Patriots was led by Nicholas Geiser, who registered one goal and one assist. Geiser scored 4:09 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Stouffville. Jacob Hayhurst picked up the assist. Niko Kovachis also scored for Toronto Patriots. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Connor Beck and Louis DiMatteo, who each chipped in one. Stouffville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Patriots incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Toronto Patriots, Luke Carter was ejected from the game.
