The Cobourg Cougars' Taylor Gauld had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

Gauld got on the board by slotting home a goal 3:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cobourg. Gauld dished an assist on Connor Hogg's goal that made the score 1-0 Cobourg at 43 seconds into the first period. He then added assists on Connor Armour's goal at 7:33 into the first and on Ryan OGrady's goal at 18:37 into the third.

Cobourg put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Buffalo to score on any of its three power plays. The Cougars outdid their season average for goals scored. Cobourg averages 3.4 goals per game. The Cougars' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Cobourg also got points from Armour, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Cobourg also got a goal from Sam Dunn as well. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Alex Riche, who had two and Joe Seney, Riley Stillman, and Jake Baird, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres were helped by Zach Evancho, who grabbed one goal. Evancho scored 1:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cobourg. Tim Kielich provided the assist. Others who scored for Buffalo included Wilson Vershay and Collin Farrell, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Tim Nicksic, David Baskerville, Justin Cmunt, and Ryan Kuhn, who contributed one each.

Stefano Durante rejected 25 shots on goal for Cobourg. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nate Skidmore recorded 17 saves for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
