Huge game by Marra boosts Georgetown over Burlington, 4-0Alcott Sat, Oct 11, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgetown Raiders' Anthony Marra had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-0 win over the Burlington Cougars. Marra found the back of the net 10:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown and again while 13:24 into the third to make the score 2-0 Georgetown.Georgetown pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes. The Raiders stifled Burlington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Raiders allow 2.4 goals per game. Georgetown's offense rang up 52 shots on the Cougars' net. Georgetown also had goals scored by Francois Cote and Blake Jones, who each put in one. More assists for Georgetown came via Liam Clare and Josh Dickinson, who each chipped in one and Gavin Shantz and Steve Hladin, who contributed two each. Burlington could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Cougars put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. Marc Williams made 20 saves for the Raiders on 20 shots. Georgetown registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Evgueni Makarski recorded 48 saves for Burlington. The Cougars incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
