Colitto leads Toronto Jr. Canadiens to shutout victory over Toronto Patriots

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens used a sparkling performance by Nathan Colitto to take down the Toronto Patriots Patriots, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Toronto Jr. Canadiens' 4-0 shutout victory.

The Junior Canadiens' penalty kill excelled, as Toronto Jr. Canadiens gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Nicholas Jarzabek, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Jarzabek scored 3:07 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Justin Maiolino picked up the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens stifled Toronto Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Junior Canadiens' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Patriots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens allows 2.8 goals per game.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Kennedy Duguid, Sal Filice, and Aaron Spivak, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens were Matthew Ferrari, Anthony Trujillo, Kevin Hancock, Ryan Kruss, Michael Cuddemi, and Anthony Repaci, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Patriots could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Patriots put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Toronto Patriots forced the Junior Canadiens goalie Colitto to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Colitto stopped 39 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Luca Farrace was ejected from the game. Emanuel Vella took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Mathew Robson who made three saves. The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
