Toronto Jr. Canadiens downs Whitby, 5-2

Aaron Spivak grabbed one point to lead the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens to a 5-2 victory over the Whitby Fury.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Junior Canadiens' offense rang up 31 shots on Whitby's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Sal Filice, who also registered one goal and one assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Justin Maiolino, Nicholas Palumbo, and Anthony Repaci, who scored one goal each. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Nicholas Jarzabek, who had two and Kevin Hancock, Ryan Kruss, Nathan Colitto, and Michael Cuddemi, who each chipped in one.

The Fury managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Whitby finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Fury did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Whitby puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

Colitto rejected 28 shots on goal for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Feaver recorded 26 saves for the Fury.
