Tonge's hat trick boosts Kingston over Pickering, 6-2Pickering Recreation Complex Fri, Oct 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pickering Panthers could not stop the Kingston Voyageurs' Alex Tonge, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win. Tonge's first goal came 8:42 into the second period. He then added goals at 27 seconds into the third and at 8:35 into the third.Kingston's penalty kill excelled, as the Voyageurs gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Kingston had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances. Kingston additionally got points from Adam Brady, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Kingston also had goals scored by Joey Beaudoin and Adam Moodie, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kingston received assists from Blake ONeill, Ryan Watson, Michael Crocock, Cole Bolton, Alex Stothart, and Rory McGuire, who each chipped in one. Pickering could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The Panthers were led by Kevin Dimagno, who finished with one goal and one assist. Dimagno scored on the power play 18:53 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Kingston. Pickering had gained a power play chance when Bolton was whistled for cross checking. Kyler Challis assisted on the tally. Mark Tenuta also scored for Pickering. More assists for Pickering came via Lucas Condotta and Nicholas Lepone, who contributed one each. Matt Penta recorded 28 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Panthers' Jordan Cartney stopped 19 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Team's Cam Palmer, Dalton Lawrence, and Riley Devine were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
