Lindsay downs Pickering in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Lindsay Muskies' Michael Spataro scored 1:31 into overtime to beat the Pickering Panthers, 5-4 (OT).

Lindsay forced Pickering goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

The Muskies were led by Jack Scanlan, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Scanlan scored 15:57 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lindsay. Joseph Vocino assisted on the tally. Lindsay also got points from Vocino, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lindsay included Austin Eastman and Logan DeNoble, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Keegan Cairns, who had one and Kristopher Diclemente, Brandon Washer, and Matthew Marchese, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers kept Lindsay's goalie busy throughout the game, and Boyd Diclemente made 43 saves on 47 shots. Pickering struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

The Panthers were led by Mitch Emerson, who had one goal and two assists. Emerson scored 17:44 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Blake Coffey picked up the assist. Pickering also had goals scored by Kyler Challis, Doug Carter, and Mark Tenuta, who each put in one. In addition, Pickering received assists from Cam Palmer, Sean Power, Dalton Lawrence, BJ Salerno, and Justin Bennett, who contributed one each.

The Muskies incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Pickering's Washkurak stopped 37 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Panthers registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
