Orangeville boosted by Pickrell's play in net, beats Georgetown 2-1Alder St. Recreation Centre Sun, Oct 26, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Wyatt Pickrell had a standout game with 47 saves, and the Orangeville Flyers beat the Georgetown Raiders 2-1. Orangeville was paced by Ian Nichols, who had one goal. Nichols scored 14:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Orangeville. Derek Topatigh assisted on the tally. The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Georgetown power plays. Orangeville also got a goal from Darren Nesbitt as well. More assists for Orangeville came via Colin Rigney and Devon Gillham, who contributed one each. Georgetown managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Raiders ended up below its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Georgetown could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Raiders put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Georgetown's offense rang up 48 shots on Orangeville's net. The Raiders were led by Francois Cote, who scored the team's only goal. Cote scored 4:23 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Brown provided the assist. The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jack LaFontaine rejected 18 shots on goal for Georgetown.
