St. Michaels falls to Stouffville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Michael Giacometti gave the Stouffville Spirit a 4-3 (OT) victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers when he scored 23 seconds into the extra period.

Stouffville was sparked by Giacometti, who tallied one goal.

The Spirit were led by Giacometti, who registered one goal.

Stouffville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Spirit finished below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Stouffville's offense rang up 39 shots on St. Michaels' net. The defensemen of the Spirit were also effective in the Buzzers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Stouffville additionally got points from Matthew Heffernan, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Joseph Deveny, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Nick Thomakos, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Brodie Tutton, Tyson Bruce, and Alex Gilmour, who contributed one each.

St. Michaels forced Stouffville goalie Aaron Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

The Buzzers were led by Scott Teskey, who registered two goals. Teskey scored the first of his two goals at 7:59 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matt Pepler assisted on the tally. Teskey's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:58 left in the second period. Pepler picked up the assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Ashur Elliot as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Sam Hunter, Ian Edmondson, and Marcel Fatovic, who each chipped in one.

Taylor recorded 41 saves for the Spirit. Stouffville registered two goals on two power play opportunities. St. Michaels' Mark Manolescu stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Buzzers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
