Aurora blows out Lindsay, 6-3Aurora Community Centre Sat, Oct 25, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Lindsay Muskies. Aurora pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes. The Tigers' offense rang up 38 shots on Lindsay's net. Aurora was helped by Nolan Dunn, who registered one goal. Dunn scored 11:08 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Aurora. Todd Winder assisted on the tally. Aurora additionally got points from Daniel Mantenuto, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Keaton Ratcliffe, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Eric Williams, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Aurora included Drake Board and Cameron Morrison, who scored one goal each. More assists for Aurora came via Noah Delmas, who had two and Michael Longato, Marty Lawlor, Michael Laidley, and Nicholas Erb, who contributed one each. The Muskies' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Lindsay was led by Austin Brown, who registered two goals and one assist. Brown scored the first of his two goals at 8:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. Joseph Vocino picked up the assist. Brown's next tally made the score 6-3 Aurora with 2:00 left in the third period. The Muskies had gotten the advantage when the Tigers' Lawlor was sent off for holding stick. Owen Barnett assisted on the tally. Lindsay also got points from Vocino, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Matthew Marchese, Austin Eastman, and Keegan Cairns, who each chipped in one. Andy Munroe recorded 19 saves for Aurora. The Tigers registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Lindsay's Boyd Diclemente stopped 32 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Muskies incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
