Orangeville downs Kingston in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Alder St. Recreation Centre Sat, Oct 25, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Orangeville Flyers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Kingston Voyageurs on a clutch goal by Connor Stack. Derek Topatigh was all over the ice for Orangeville, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Topatigh scored on the power play 14:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Michael Crocock had put the Flyers on the power play. Lucas Smilsky assisted on the tally. Orangeville stifled Kingston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Flyers forced the Voyageurs goalie Bryan Abell to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Orangeville additionally got points from Stack, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Smilsky, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Orangeville also got a goal from Shawn Topatigh as well. Kingston's offense rang up 48 shots on Orangeville's net. The Voyageurs were helped by Matt Hoover, who had one goal. Hoover scored 16:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Zachary Emelifeonwu picked up the assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Joey Beaudoin and Alex Tonge, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Blake ONeill, Adam Moodie, Cole Bolton, and Rory McGuire, who contributed one each. The Flyers' Nicholas Latinovich stopped 45 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Orangeville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bryan Abell made 45 saves for Kingston on 49 shots. The Voyageurs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
