Wiffen leads Trenton over Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 3-1

The Trenton Golden Hawks' Brady Wiffen had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 3-1 win over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens.

Wiffen got on the board by slotting home a goal 19:32 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Hunter Fargey provided the assist. Wiffen dished an assist on Danny Liscio's goal that made the score 1-1 at 19 seconds into the second period. He added another helper on Chrisitian Lloyd's goal that made the score 2-1 Trenton at 6:44 into the third period.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' power play was ineffective against Trenton's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Golden Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Junior Canadiens to score on any of their seven power plays.

In addition, Trenton received assists from Zach de Concilys, who had three.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Junior Canadiens could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Toronto Jr. Canadiens puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Junior Canadiens could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Aaron Spivak, who scored the team's only goal. Spivak scored 13:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Luca Farrace assisted on the tally.

Riley Brown made 29 saves for Trenton on 30 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Nathan Colitto rejected 26 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens.
