Curran's hat trick boosts Aurora over Mississauga, 7-2

John Curran netted a hat trick to lead the Aurora Tigers over the Mississauga Chargers, 7-2.

Curran notched his first tally 2:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:57 into the first and at 5:28 into the third.

Aurora gained an early advantage, leading 5-0 by the end of the first period.

The Tigers forced Mississauga's goaltenders to work in net, finishing with 48 shots and forcing 41 saves. Alex Lepore made 11 stops and Mitchell Heck made 30. Aurora surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Tigers have scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Aurora also got points from Eric Williams, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Cameron Morrison, who also tallied one goal and two assists. More assists for Aurora came via Drake Board, who had two and Jordan DaSilva, Nolan Dunn, Noah Robinson, Liam Neuman, and Nicholas Erb, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers found themselves short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Marcus Semiao recorded 27 saves for Aurora. The Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mississauga registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
