The Georgetown Raiders and the Oakville Blades skate to 2-2 (OT) tieAlcott Wed, Oct 22, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Georgetown and Oakville could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie. The Raiders could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Georgetown puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. The Blades were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. The Raiders' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Georgetown finished with 24 penalty minutes. The Raiders were helped by John Adams, who tallied one goal. Adams scored 9:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Anthony Marra provided the assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Francois Cote as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Jordan Brown, Steve Hladin, and Richard Court, who each chipped in one. Oakville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Georgetown to score on any of its four power plays. The Blades were helped by Ryan Burns, who finished with one goal. Burns scored on the power play 5:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Oakville had gotten the advantage when the Raiders' Scott Emerson was sent off for roughing. Jackson Bales assisted on the tally. Sean Kohler also scored for Oakville. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Kamil Tkaczuk and Tanner Shaw, who contributed one each. Marc Williams made 26 saves for Georgetown on 28 shots. Daniel Mannella recorded 40 saves for the Blades. Oakville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
