Pickering falls to Toronto Patriots in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Beau Browning gave the Toronto Patriots Patriots a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Pickering Panthers when he scored 43 seconds into the extra period.

Toronto Patriots' Emanuel Vella was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Vella certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.04 entering the contest.

Pickering's power play was ineffective against the Patriots' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Toronto Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Patriots forced the Panthers goalie Jordan Cartney to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Brett Markham also scored for Toronto Patriots. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Marco Bozzo and Jeremy Pullara, who contributed one each.

Pickering could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Panthers put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Pickering's offense rang up 38 shots on Toronto Patriots' net.

The Panthers were led by Nicholas Lepone, who scored the team's only goal. Lepone scored 19:34 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Joseph Mitchell picked up the assist.

The Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Toronto Patriots, Marcus Rose was ejected from the game. Cartney rejected 38 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
