Toronto Jr. Canadiens erases deficit to stun Hamilton, 4-3Mountain Arena Mon, Oct 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Hamilton Red Wings could not hold down the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, and Junior Canadiens erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win. Toronto Jr. Canadiens let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Junior Canadiens took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Anthony Repaci at 29 seconds in the first period. Toronto Jr. Canadiens went down 3-1 after Hamilton's Laine McKay put the puck home at 3:44 in the second period. After knotting things up at 3-3 on a goal by Anthony Trujillo at 18:27 in the second, the Junior Canadiens got the game-winner from Kevin Hancock at 6:49 in the third period. Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Hancock, who had one goal and one assist. The Junior Canadiens kept the Red Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Bishop made 32 saves on 36 shots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens additionally got points from Trujillo, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Repaci, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got a goal from Justin Maiolino as well. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Cody Symonds, Dakota Brancatella, Michael Cuddemi, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who contributed one each. Hamilton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Red Wings forced Toronto Jr. Canadiens goalie Daniel Lopapa to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Hamilton also got points from Otis Goldman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Erick Delaurentis also scored for Hamilton. More assists for Hamilton came via Jeff Joynt, Alexander Carlson, Matt Smith, and Carl Greco, who each chipped in one. Lopapa rejected 36 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hamilton incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
