Georgetown survives North York comeback, wins 7-5

The North York Rangers almost clawed their way back from a six-goal deficit, but the Georgetown Raiders managed to pull out a 7-5 win in the end.

Georgetown led by six goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Raiders' John Adams scored on the power play at 8:15 in the second period to put Georgetown up 6-0.

With five goals and two assists between them, Steve Hladin and Adams teamed up to power the Raiders' offense. Hladin finished with two goals and two assists and Adams also added three goals.

Georgetown forced North York goalie Andrew Cipollone to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Raiders bested their season scoring average. Georgetown has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. The Raiders gave up more goals than its normal season average. Georgetown averages 2.2 goals allowed per game.

Others who scored for Georgetown included Jake Clements and Francois Cote, who scored one goal each. More assists for Georgetown came via Eric Eustace, David Perklin, Richard Court, and Brendan Jacome, who each chipped in one and Gavin Shantz, Liam Clare, and Anthony Marra, who contributed two each.

The Rangers' offense rang up 35 shots on the Raiders' net.

North York was helped by Gabriel Valenzuela, who tallied three goals and one assist. North York additionally got points from Ryan Takamatsu, who also registered one goal and one assist. Michael Morgan also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Will Reilly, who had one, Jeremy Szabo, who had three, and Matthew Whittaker, who had four.

Georgetown's Marc Williams stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Raiders incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Andrew Cipollone made 28 saves for the Rangers on 34 shots. North York incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
