Oakville outlasts St. Michaels, 5-3

The game between the Oakville Blades and the St. Michaels Buzzers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Oakville emerged with a 5-3 win.

The Blades gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matthew Lippa 8:53 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Oakville was paced by Lippa, who tallied one goal and one assist.

In the losing effort, St. Michaels was led by Ashur Elliot, who had two goals. Elliot scored the first of his two goals at 14:36 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Oakville. Luca Doctor provided the assist. Elliot's next tally made the score 3-3 with 17:04 left in the third period. Noah Jordan assisted on the tally.

The Buzzers were unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Oakville also got points from Kamil Tkaczuk, who also registered one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Brandon Hughes, Greg Campbell, and Ryan Garvey, who each put in one. In addition, Oakville received assists from Max Lindsay, Joe Seney, Christian Rajic, and Tyler Burns, who contributed one each.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Doctor, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Ian Edmondson, Marco Ferraro, and Bron Loiselle, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn made 21 saves for the Blades on 24 shots. Oakville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. George Argiropoulos rejected 34 shots on goal for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
