Kingston pulls away in second, rolls over Hamilton, 8-0

The Hamilton Red Wings allowed the Kingston Voyageurs to net five goals during the second period and fell, 8-0.

Joey Beaudoin had a great game for Kingston, netting four goals. Beaudoin notched his first tally 3:46 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:27 into the second, at 11:14 into the second, and at 19:00 into the second.

The Voyageurs forced Hamilton's netminders to work without much rest, launching 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Alexander Bishop made 28 stops and Mark Sinclair made seven. Kingston featured an improved defense during the game. The Voyageurs gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Kingston found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Voyageurs have scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kingston additionally got points from Zachary Emelifeonwu, who also had two goals and two assists and Cole Bolton, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Adam Brady as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Blake ONeill, who had three, Josh Hicks, Adam Moodie, and Alex Tonge, who contributed one each, and Michael Crocock and Alex Stothart, who each chipped in two.

The Red Wings' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 22 minutes in penalty time. Hamilton surpassed its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. The Red Wings could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Hamilton puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game.

Matt Penta recorded 23 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 3-for-6 on the power play. Team's Ryan Watson and Bolton were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Red Wings registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For Hamilton, Erick Delaurentis, Josh LaFrance, and Giovanni Foschia were ejected from the contest.
